Location.
Great
Barugh (pronounced Barf) is a small hamlet located within the
Vale of Pickering in North Yorkshire. It lies within 6 miles of
the old market towns of Malton, Pickering and Kirbymoorside. All
three still hold traditional markets and Farmer's markets. Pickering
is famous for its castle and the North York Moors steam railway
which travels up through Heartbeat country.
Castle Howard is nearby as is the historic city of York. The spectacular
Yorkshire coastline of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey and James
Herriot's Yorkshire Dales are only slightly further afield.
